Courtroom dramas and legal thrillers, of course. But I’m just as likely to write about literary fiction, historical fiction, memoir, or narrative nonfiction where the law shapes the story in unexpected ways.
Not at all. Sometimes the most interesting legal stories barely look like legal stories. If there’s a whiff of a subpoena, a contract dispute, a constitutional question, a property fight, or an ethical dilemma, I’m in.
